BEAR HUNTS

Bear hunts begin in August and end in November.  Tags and licenses are purchased over the counter.  There is nothing like the sound of hounds blowing up from the truck as you drive on some forest road.  The hounds leave the truck in a hurry as you scramble to get your gear on.  By the time you get rigged up, the hounds are usually out of hearing.  You head off in the mountains in hot pursuit hoping to hear that ever sweet sound of hounds treeing.  Just when you can't take another step you hear the faint sound of the hounds telling you that they have it treed.  A new rush of adrenaline comes over you and away you go. 


You climb over the top and you see the hounds milling around a tree looking up into the branches.  You start looking and then you see  a patch of fur in the green.  Excitement fills you up as you sneak up to the hounds.  You get to the tree and you can't believe what you see.  At that moment you forget all about what it took to get there! The above is a typical bear hunt with hounds.

Photo trips are available for $125.00 per day.  Everything except personal gear is provided.
